Castle Activity

Castle Website

http://www.nashua.edu/yuengerj/castlewq.htm#Introduction

This website is very good. It has activities, pictures and it has lots of infomation on castles in Wales. It is very cool and it also has its own animated picures, like a torch that flares.

I think we should definitely use this activity.

I THINK that I shall never see

A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth's flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree

When I listen I hear...

When I listen I hear... violins being played by lots of excellent and terrific violinists, the piano playing like a terrific sparkling day, birds that sing in the mysterious distance and my teacher wonderfully singing.

Oh my - you can have a sherbert lemon for that! from Ms.S :)

Soak Some Potatoes

Slice a small potato lengthwise into several pieces that each have two flat sides. Place some of the pieces in one dish and the rest in another. Fill both dishes with water. Add two tablespoons of salt to one of the dishes, and label it "salt water." Let the potatoes soak for 15 minutes.Compare the potatoes. Is there a difference in firmness? Why?

I think that the salt water potato will go softer.

The salt water became softer and the normal water stayed the same.

Video Mr. B

Chapter 1: Liking Myself

I think that all of the pictures were too fast moving for kindergarten. The graphics in this show were pretty babyish and the pictures were all 2D and did not move.

Some of the vocabulary was nearly 6th grade level. In this video it mentioned smoking, drugs and firecrackers. The talking in this video mentioned too much information too fast. I think that some people will be a bit bored because it talks all the time.

It says that the video was made in 1992 which I think was a bit old-fashioned and I think that that is kind of bad. It is made in Victoria and has a Australian website but the voice over is an American accent. I think that if we kept it, it would be for 3-4 grade level but I don’t think it is very good.

No-Name Cow

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

No-Name Cow says:
"Wow I love hamburgers!"

The moral of story is that if you have food at your own home and you don’t like it do not go out and buy fast food that you do like.

In my teacher's office I found...

What I found in my teacher’s office…

In my teacher’s office I found… a fantastic sparkling magical city filled with little imaginary elves and sparkly flying fairies, my teacher’s small silly cat that loves to chew on her laptop cord that is worth a lot of money and all of the luscious magnificent chocolates that her tall sons have given her.
